Can't make spheres inside pipe to stop rotating/sliding

Post by toglia »

Hello!

In my scene I have some sort of static pipe that holds some spheres. Please see above.

Now, for some reason although the spheres are tight inside this pipe they keep rotating like there was no friction. I have tried many ways to stop this but none have worked.

I have tried several configurations of friction to all body involved, then I tried changing the anisotropic friction, angular damping, sleeping thresholds, etc. They keep sliding...

I could see that the new values visibly changed the behavior of the simulation, so I was sure they were taking effect, but they kept rotating inside the pipe.

This must have stopped settings a higher friction, right? Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

I'm not familiar with this problem.

Can you re-create the problem in any of the Bullet demos, and attach the zipped source of that demo in a reply to this topic?
Thanks,
Erwin

Well, the thing is that I'm using Ogre .mesh files for concave shapes therefore I need some other libs to do a complete demo of the problem, but I'm pretty sure this could be replicated by placing a static hollow cylinder in the scene and throwing some spheres in it. Like the picture.

Some other guy in the OgreBullet forum has seen this too.

Please let me know if you do this test.
Thanks.
