The measured data obtained from sensors in

\r\ncontinuous monitoring of civil structures are mainly used for modal

\r\nidentification and damage detection. Therefore, when modal

\r\nidentification analysis is carried out the quality in the identification of

\r\nthe modes will highly influence the damage detection results. It is

\r\nalso widely recognized that the usefulness of the measured data used

\r\nfor modal identification and damage detection is significantly

\r\ninfluenced by the number and locations of sensors. The objective of

\r\nthis study is the numerical implementation of two widely known
