Hi all,
I wish to have a cannon fire a ball at a target.
The cannons orientation/angle etc. can be adjusted by the user.
How can I 'show' the path the cannon ball would take if fired?
Basically how do I access a trajectory path based on the cannon balls mass/cannons impulse against ball (I assume it's impulse I need to apply to the ball?) without actually 'doing' the shot?
Or do I somehow do the shot (at great speed and with no draw) and thereby generate my path already???
Any help/suggestions much appreciated
Cheers

Re: Path trajectory
If the only force acting on the cannon ball is gravity (ie no air resistance), the trajectory will be a parabola which you can work out the trajectory mathematically - google "balistic trajectory".
Whether that matches the trajectory Bullet comes up with is another thing entirely...

Re: Path trajectory
Thanks for that.
The problem is (unsurprisingly) I need any path I compute to match Bullets....
