Currently, we have open PhD positions (full position, E13) in the Computer Animation Group (https://animation.rwth-aachen.de) at RWTH Aachen University. The research of the Computer Animation Group focuses on the physically-based simulation of rigid bodies, deformable solids and fluids in interactive virtual reality applications and computer animation, and on related topics such as GPGPU and real-time visualization. The main application areas include virtual prototyping, medical simulation, computer games and special effects in movies. Therefore, we seek for candidates with a strong interest in physically-based simulation in the field of computer graphics.
Prerequisites: An above-average diploma or master's degree in the field of computer science, computational engineering or related discipline is required. The candidate should have good language skills in English and good skills in object oriented programming.
The position provides the opportunity of writing a Ph.D. thesis.
