Well the subject is not the most suitable for the question, and the question is not realy advanced, but anyway here it goes:
I am using bullet only for its physics, and I do the drawing with irrLicht engine.
I am at the point of making a model "walk". I have the animation but I am having problems making its collision shape move steadily just as if somebody is walking.
I tried zero friciton and then a force to the body for a single frame, and stop the move by pushing the exact oposite force. The problem is that if the framerate is too high, the force won't be applied because bullet doesn't calculate a physics step, and on low framerates it may be applyed more than 2 times, so when you stop walking, the U of the body is not 0.
I have also tried friction but according to physics and the results of a constant force are an accelerated movement.
I also tried putting the force every 100ms (with non-zero friction), but the same as before happens because it may not be calculated sometimes or it may be overcalculated (for 2 or more frames) by bullet.
What can I do for this, or is there another way to make a Box shape "walk"?
P.S. I may not be a good game coder, but I am fair C++ programmer. Also my physics is not the best as I am only 15.5 years old and these are out of what I have been taught at school. (Well, anyway my father is a physics tutor so I can understand what all these are due to his help.)
