It's me again. This time with a question about the softBody->m_cfg.kAHR parameter. I currently have this parameter set to 1 to ensure that my soft body ropes stick to the moving rigid body to which they are anchored. However, I also noticed that, as this number increases, the first rope link (the one that joins the anchor node to the next free node) becomes less swivel-y. For example, if my rigid body is a ground plane, and I have a soft body rope anchored to it (generated so that its nodes have y coordinates 0, +1, +2, +3, etc.), the rope's first link will be close to vertical when kAHR = 1, but will fall over (swivel to horizontal) when KAHR = 0.
I am wondering if there is a way to get good anchor tracking (no drift when the rigid body moves) without this rigidity side effect. So, in the above example, I want the rope's first link to be able to fall over (swivel) completely until it is horizontal.
I hope my low-level language is sufficient for explaining the problem...
Ideas?
