I have some Bullet soft body ropes anchored to a rigid body. I want to nullify the effect of the ropes on the rigid body. When I move the rigid body (using setVelocity), it has to pull against the rope anchors and overcome their resting inertia, which introduces angular motion (the part of the rigid body to which the ropes are attached moves slower than the rest of the rigid body). Also, when I set the rigid body's gravity to 0, it still falls because the attached ropes have a positive mass and are still subject to gravitational forces. I don't want to turn gravity off for the ropes, though, because I want them to blow around in a fake wind.
So, I suppose what I'm asking is: is there a way for the ropes to be influenced by the movement of the rigid body (and gravity), but for the rigid body to NOT be influenced by the forces introduced by the anchored ropes? A one-way anchoring scheme, so to speak. This might have something to do with the dynamics world settings...maybe?
Thanks
