I have some Level 1 DTED data and I was wondering what shape to use to allow testing for collision with it? Obviously the terrain will be static but I will some dynamic vehicles moving around either in the air or at sea level. I have had a look at btHeightfieldTerrainShape but it seems to only useful for a single 2^n +1 sized tile.
I will also have some sea bottom data mostly likely in S57 chart data that I also want to check for a vessel hitting the sea bottom.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I suspect you will either have to convert your data into a heightfield and use the btHeightfieldTerrain shape, or triangulate it and use a btBvhTriangleMesh shape.
