I am trying to find the point of max penetration associated with a manifold. This should represent the notion of the perfect contact point under zero penetration conditions, and should evolve reasonably smoothly.
I can think of doing this using quadratic fitting to the manifold points, but is there a better way maybe using inbuilt functions?
