Happy 2006 and new Bullet update

Post by Erwin Coumans »

First of all, wish you all a happy new year. 2006 will be a very exciting year with the Playstation 3, Ageia PhysX and Havok GPU physics coming out.

The updated version of Bullet has bounding volume hierarchies, with GPU in mind. It features stackless traversal. See this topic on gpgpu.org:

Some of the plans for Bullet development in 2006 are:
GPU support (starting with the new BVH), better penetration depth, sweep and prune broadphase. Also finishing the draft continuous collision detection paper is high on the list.

This version of Bullet is in sync with Bullet physics used in Blender 2.40.
