About catheter virtualization

Post by wolves86 » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:56 am

Dear Mr/Mrs:

I have problems that I don't know how to virtualize the catheter using Bullet. The catheter is not very thick and is a little rigid. I have to vitualize it in blood vessel environment. And when given a force from the end of the catheter, the catheter will deform. I don't know how to do it. Could you give me some help. Thank you very much!

You could perhaps try and emulate it using cylinders with limited height (and radius = catheder radius).

Then make a "string" of these cylinders and put the correct joint between them with whatever joint parameters you require (most likely a ball-joint)

It would look something like this:

Then just fiddle with cylinder height, distance between cylinders and joint parameters.
