The Graduate School of Computational Engineering at Technische Universität (TU) Darmstadt grants
2 scholarships for PhD students
in the area of Visual Simulation.
The dynamic simulation is an important area of research with many applications. This area includes the simulation of rigid bodies, cloth and soft bodies. Today dynamic simulation plays an increasingly significant role in the development of complex machines (e.g. in robotics), in medical science, in computer animation and in virtual reality applications.
The candidate should pursue research in one of the following fields:
* simulation of cloth and deformable models
* collision detection
* fracture simulation
* simulation of fluids and gas
An above-average diploma or master's degree in the field of computer science or related discipline is required. The candidate should have good language skills in English and good skills in object oriented programming.
The scholarship provides the opportunity of writing a Ph.D. thesis.
Please send your application with the relevant documents in electronic form to: Prof. Dr. Jan Bender, http://www.graduate-school-ce.de/index.php?id=304
