Tech/Physics Engineer required to work in the south of the UK for a very well known and reputable gaming organisation.

Skills sought are:
? Programmer III/IV (Matrix 19/20) level
? Excellent C++ (5 years experience)
? Good assembler, preferably MIPS and PSP VFPU
? Strong maths/physics (i.e. A level grade A and preferably degree elements)
? Responsible for physics systems on at least 2 published games.
? Necessary experience (in a game environment):
o Collision Detection: Creation of efficient data formats, space partitioning techniques, object grouping/rejection, etc.
o Collision Reaction: Rigid body systems, Verlet integration and alternatives, techniques for dealing with multiple/awkward collisions, etc.
o Driving Physics: Engine modelling, road reaction, suspension, emulation of physical properties for speed/gameplay, etc.
o Optimisation of physics systems or other mathematically complex systems, preferably with experience of VFPU microcode on PSP.
? Desirable experience:
o Experience of a third-party physics library (e.g. Havok), preferably in-game implementation
o General game experience, in any of the following areas:
 Low-level renderer ? preferably PS2/PSP.
 High-level renderer, scene management, streaming world data, etc.
 Visual effects ? full-screen effects, particles, etc. ? preferably PS2/PSP.
 Animation systems, particularly skeletal animation, inverse kinematics, rag-doll.
? Good problem solving and debugging skills.
? Good approach to ?Engineering best practices? ? design up front, thorough testing, documentation, requirements gathering.
? Low management overhead. Will shout if there are obstacles/dependencies.
? Good time management. Experience of scheduling self accurately.
