You can make effect by this step in Maya
1.Open the scene you are going to use. I created a scene with a lighter, some lights and a white background.
2.Okay, when the reference image is chosen, place it in your document (File > Place)
3.Select the container you just created, and then go to its attributes
4.The flat areas like the wall or table will consist of larger glass pieces, while smaller objects
5.You are going to leave the resolution at a very low number for now. Change the following options under “Container Properties”.

I'll assume that last post was a joke. I've been wondering how to keep the rigid bodies from simulating on the first frame as well. Does anybody out there know how to key frame the simulation start time for a rigid body in maya??
