Hi,
I am having a problem with the velocity of an object attached to a constraint.
I have attached a picture to explain briefly the problem.
The system is composed of 2 cubes with no gravity
- Cube A (on the top) : keyed object moving up
- Cube B (on the bottom) : dynamic object
They are both attached to a constraint, hence the cube A is pulling the cube B and it's working fine.
The problem is the value of the velocity for the cube B. Normally, its value should be the same or very similar to the cube A.
Unfortunately, its value is lower (around 10 times smaller). By increasing the number of sub steps it gets worst.
Any idea, why the velocity of the cube B doesn't reflect the real velocity ?
Thanks
Vince

Re: object velocity and constraints
From the picture I guess you are using Maya right?
so I think may be it has something to do with the Unit, because in maya the default unit is cm, but I dont sure if there are some influence on the calculation of velocity, sorry!

Hi,
it's not relative with the units, the picture I have uploaded is just to illustrate the example.
