Constrained body moves faster than moving body attached to

Post by sjdowling »

I have a kinematic body which I control the position of. I have a rigid body attached to it by a 6DOF constraint which allows some rotation but no linear motion. When I update the position of the kinematic body the rigid body moves in the same direction but actually moves past the object and out of it's constrained position and once the kinematic object stops it settles back into it's correct position. It is almost as if it is experiencing the opposite of inertia.

I've uploaded a video of this happening here http://youtu.be/_i-KT84EzZc where the kinetic body is the hand and the dynamic body is the thumb. At first I thought it might be due to collisions occurring between the thumb and hand inside the socket but moving the pivot point outside of the hand results in the same behaviour.
