rotation not being simulated?

Post by Sauce »

I've been working with bullet for a few weeks now (on and off) with Ogre and I just cannot figure out for the life of me why no rotation is being simulated. Just translation.

When I create a line of capsules (For testing purposes), each with a slight overlap, they spawn inside each other and then jump upwards to stack on top of each other. For some reason, the bodies aren't simulating any rotation but that which is given to them when they are spawned, ie they do not rotate AT ALL after they've been created. I can't even get them to rotate by applying torque manually. The result is that I end up with a magical staircase situation and stacks of physics bodies that looks like they belong in a puzzle game.

Is there a setting somewhere that could be causing this?

if its any help this guy describes a similar problem (No rotation, even if he applies torque manually).

As far as I can tell his problem was also unsolved.

forgive my insulence!

I forgot to calculate the local inertia as I created each body *facepalm*
