rope elongation

Post by VanDelayyyy »

hi..

I have a moderately heavy object on the end of a length of rope and when it swings the rope elongates. Does anyone know how to reduce the amount of elongation (other than reducing the weight of the object :>)? I'm using 16 iterations for the rope currently.

thanks!

What's really important is the mass ratio between the rope and the body, so you can increase the rope mass to improve stiffness, and/or iterations, (rope are fast to solve, try 32).

Hope it help,

Thanks.. it seems to work ok if i tweak it as you suggest, though the overall level of tweaking is increased because the movement of attached components is affected by the rope mass.
