whole body control - PHD Dissertation Thesis Question

Hello,

I've got a question to the PhD Thesis of Luis Sentis ( http://robotics.stanford.edu/~lsentis/f ... s-2007.pdf ). On page 14 (page 29 in pdf), it's written "Fr corresponds to the sum of reaction forces and moments projected into link center of masses (see Figure 2.4)..."
I'm completly new to this topic and I was wondering how do you actually project reaction forces, that are measured at the foot-sensors, to the COM?
