can we use animated geometry (deforming) as passive body

Post by 3dgang »

Can we use an animated geometry which doesn't has translation but shape animation as passive body in Dynamica ? If it is possible can some one explain it how? I have tried to bake the shape animation to the geometry, but the moment I turn it to passive body, its animation get lost.

this feature is not implemented at the moment, but i was looking into it a while back. it should be possible to force a node refresh which would update the shape data Dynamica uses for a rigid body shape. you would have to go "under the hood" and modify the Dynamica mel scripts (DynamicaUI.mel does most of the work), or possibly modify the plugin source and recompile a custom mll.

perhaps there is a kinematic rigid body solution?
