A contact or joint constraint solver, even sequential impulse or PGS is an LCP solver, just optimized in a way that avoid explicitly creating the full matrices/vectors.<br><br>You can check out my recent GDC 2014 presentation about this topic, it covers LCP solvers:<br>goo.gl/84N71q (there are presenter notes).
