Yes, COLLADA 1.5 contains support for kinematics and articulated systems. This seems particularly useful for physics simulation. There exists a plugin for SolidWorks that allows one to export to COLLADA 1.5 (http://labs.solidworks.com/Products/Pro ... ladaexport). I don't know of any other authoring tools programs that support 1.5 yet, but hopefully others will offer this as well in the near future.
Statistics: Posted by mamo — Sun Apr 05, 2009 10:16 pm

We might put some effort in upgrading to COLLADA 1.5 if there is enough interest.

Are there specific physics features in COLLADA 1.5 that are missing in 1.4?
Thanks,
Erwin
Statistics: Posted by Erwin Coumans — Fri Apr 03, 2009 7:12 pm

Are there any plans to add support for COLLADA 1.5 to Bullet?
Statistics: Posted by mamo — Thu Apr 02, 2009 5:14 pm
